Red Carpet Report: Golden Globes 2012. The Good, The Bad and The Brilliant!!!!

Oh happy days are here again! It's award season, and for most fashion lovers, watchers, followers and bloggers this is the prime of our hunting season. Nothing is bigger than fashion style and trend spotted at the award shows. Being the Holy Grail of all fashion seasons, it is blatantly aped, extensively written about and pretty much analyzed to infinity.

Like most fashion addicts, I too have always loved award season and most importantly the red carpet fashion parade. Since the awards' live telecast in my country is at the crack of dawn, as a kid I used to wake up at 5:30AM to see them(Yea I was one of those crazy ones). That’s how much I love them! Thanks to the internet I don’t have to do that anymore. Anyhoo, whilst watching the ‘ahh’ and ‘OMG’ moments and well-timed tears, I would spend my time studying the important stuff. Who Wore What and How!

Categorically breaking my picks into three groups:
I.The Wonders.
II.The Blunders.
III.The Stunners.
Here's presenting you the good, the bad and the brilliant of Golden Globes 2012.

I.The Wonders.
These looks are the epitome of the phrase ‘elegantly stylish’. Form the tip of the hair right down to the shoes, everything was immaculately well styled. Kudos, ladies!!

II.The Blunders.
“Oh my, what was she thinking?” Really with all the wonderful dresses and stylist in the world you managed to pick this! Looks gone so bad, we literally have nightmares about it. These looks were classic poster child for ‘What Not to Wear’, ever!

III.The Stunners.
There are always those who will risk it. All or nothing! These ladies took some major style risk, that seriously paid off. Form daring slashes to sizzling sparkle, they picked the piece that made everyone sit up and take notice. Love it or hate it, they made us do a double take. These are hands down the stand-out statement looks on the Golden Globes 2012.

Who are your favourites? Tell me what you think. Share your view and thoughts with me in the comment section.

Trend Spotting: Bright Coloured Tights.

Don’t you just wish you could somehow wear your pretty summer dresses in the cold season! That there was a magical garment that would look great paired with skirts and shorts while keeping you warm and winter chic at the same time. Well ladies, the fashion Gods have heard our prayers and granted us with winter seasons must have accessory- Bright Coloured Tights.

Trust me,nothing says hot quite like a pair of bright coloured tights. Thanks to winter’s hottest trend we can ingeniously carry forward our summer wardrobe into the chilly winter season.

You ask, what makes these simple been-around-for-ages piece of hosiery a sudden must have item?

For starters, unlike the old-school sheer skin tone tights, the bright coloured ones are opaque, making them convenient to pair with dress, shorts and skirts in the winter months. Along with being inexpensive, they also are very easy to play around and mix and match with. The same pair can be worn with a number of clothes, on a number of ocassions and still offer a fresh look. From bold and vibrant shades to demure and subtle tones, this trend has something for everyone.

Girls, what are you waiting for! Don’t hide your legs this winter. Flaunt them colourfully!!

How's a girl to choose between so many oh-so-fab and stunning colours,'sigh'. So, is this trend gonna be your winter style statement? Are you ready to rock a pair of bright coloured tights? Share your views regarding this trend in the comment section.

Till then, tra-la.

A New Beginning....

Resolutions are not my thing. I can't keep them, follow them or abide by them. But, on the other hand we all need to have goals in our lives; without them its hard to get somewhere if you don't know where you're going.

Lucky for me, Independent Fashion Blogger's new project-"IFB PROJECT #28: Create A Motivation Mood Board"- got me to think what I want form 2012 and how am I going to achieve it. It set me on a path to find my goals, object, dreams, plans,aspiration...

My collage literally is a 'mood' board. It perfectly captures my mood and communicates my emotions and hopes for the new year. It helped me visualize all that I wanna achieve for myself and my baby:my blog, 'Fashionopolis'.
For once in my life, I am starting the new year off with setting goals(not resolutions) for myself.

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..."

So do you have a New Years resolution? Or are you going with the flow? Do share your hopes and aspiration for 2012 with me in the comment section.

Here's Looking At You, 2012.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! My lovelies. May 2012 be the year where you get all that you want and need.

But, before I completely embrace the new year, it’s time to bid adieu to an old friend. For 2011 was a dear one. It was a year that helped me discovery my self. Where I found a whole new me. A year that taught me to take risk, try out untested waters and and embark on new adventures.

I was not even thinking of blogging when it just happened to me. A friend mentioned that I should so start my own fashion blog, and well, I did. Blogging is new to me, but I am loving the experience, the exposure, and the new friends I have made on this crazy whirlwind journey.

This experience would not have happened without all of you.

Huge thanks to all my darling friends. You’ll are my strength, the ones who put up with my writer’s block, my lack-of-good-idea mood swings and get me through a bad day. You guys mean the world to me.

A thank you to all the new friend I have made here. Your wonderful advice, guidance and support keeps me going. I am so very glad I met you all.

Last but never the least; I'd like to thank my incredibly talented family. For loving me at my worst and best, for supporting me in my crazy decisions and for being my most honest critic.

I don't know what I'd do without any of you. Thank you all.

And now I say good-bye and thanks to 2011, an old friend who showed me new ways, widened my horizon and most importantly taught me that the world is full of new and wonderful opportunity.

Here's looking forward to a bright and beautiful 2012.
Much Thanks and Love,
Amena!!
