Style It Thrice: Orange Silk Blouse

The other day I was researching 'wardrobe must-have' list. And list after list had their own opinion as to what and what not should be a part of a woman's wardrobe. The one thing; besides jeans and LBD, that was common in 98% of the lists was, a simple button front blouse {full or half sleeves depending on the weather}.
You must be wondering
what is the real purpose of a plain old simple blouse? While jeans are all age friendly and LBD can be dressed up and down, how is an almost 'matronly' kind of blouse a fashion must-have? Well, in fashion; just like in real life, looks can be super deceptive. What may look bland to the unstylish eye can actually be a gem of a find for a fashion savant
For this week's 'Style It Thrice' segment I have chosen a J.Crew orange {neon-papaya} full sleeves button front blouse. The sheer simplicity is one of the reasons why I chose it. What may seem to most as a plan and simple blouse, can easily be transformed into a stylish and trendy ensemble. Due to its simplicity the blouse can be styled and worn for a number of occasion-day and night.
Here are few of my styling suggestion that will hopefully make you see this simple yet versatile blouse in a new light.
Look 1: This blouse would be perfect for office wear. But, instead of pairing it with regular trousers opt for an on-trend high low skirt {Make sure the skirt's front length is work place appropriate}.Add on a bright colour necklace and chic patterned bag and you are set for a stylish business meeting.

Look 2: Full sleeve button front blouse is not something one would consider as casual wear. Right? But, if you pair the same blouse with bright coloured jeans, funky bag and statement necklace you have pretty much created for yourself a fun look that would be perfect for weekend shopping or brunch with the girls.
[MANGO Jeans, EMILIO PUCCI Flat Sandals, MARY KATRANTZOU Bag, DANNIJO Necklace, BURBERRY Blush]

Look 3: Party wear is all about the sexy. And this blouse is as sexy as sexy can be. All you need to do is role up the sleeves, throw on some bling-bling bracelets and pair the blouse with a all-eyes-on-me skirt and killer stilettos and you are ready to brun the dance floor.

Colours Of Pride: In Celebration Of India's Independence Day.

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake.
Gitanjali, Rabindranath Tagore

On 15th August,1947 a free and new country was born. India a.k.a 'Azad Bharat
turns 65 today. And amidst all the celebration, the songs of praise, progress and achievement will be sung by its believers the cynics will not be far behind to
criticise its flaws and shortcomings. My country has tons of each-achievements as well as flaws. But which country does not.

While I too can get into the debate as to how much India has grown and how much more we need to achieve, I opt to not do it today. For today is all about celebrating India in all her glory.
[The National Flag of India]
In celebration of Independence Day, I have chosen to fuse my love for India with my love for fashion by stylishly creating a TriColour ensemble. For those who don't know, the India national flag 'Tiranga' is a horizontal rectangular tricolour flag, of India saffron {Kesari}, white; with the Ashok Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre and India green.

Keeping this color scheme in mind, here are few styling options.
Happy Birthday my beloved India. May you continue to grown and shine.

Mixing Art: Neon Delight

I am currently having a major creative menopause. Filled with mood swings and self doubt. Plus, I haven't been able to write or sketch or do anything productive in the last 10 days. Even as one of my creative senses is in a current shut down mode, the other one is highly charged-up. So instead of wasting day after day doodling and staring at blank page and word doc, I decided to channel my energy into something I enjoy immensely-creating collages.

Till I get my writing mojo back{hopefully soon} enjoy this delicious neon theme collage.
