Colours Of Pride: In Celebration Of India's Republic Day

In celebration of Republic Day, the day India got its constitution, I have chosen to pair my love for beloved country; India, with my love for fashion by stylishly creating a Indian TriColour ensemble.
India's national flag also know as 'Tiranga' {three colours} is a horizontal rectangular tricolour flag, of India saffron {Kesari}, white; with the Ashok Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre and India green.

The Indian flag belongs to the secondary colour scheme, which consist of orange, violet and green. Orange being a warn colour contrasts as well as complements green that is belongs to the cool colour family. To balance out this warm and cool harmony is white and hints of navy blue.
The colours of the Indian flags are most often seen in Indian ensembles, especially sari and bridal wear. That does not mean one can not use these shades to create a western or an Indo-western fusion look.

If an head-to-toe tricolour look is not your style, then opt to include the tricolour shades in medium or small dose.
This republic day wear your tricolours with pride and style.

Here's wishing all my fellow Indians a very Happy Republic Day.

Mixing Art: Neon Delight

I am currently having a major creative menopause. Filled with mood swings and self doubt. Plus, I haven't been able to write or sketch or do anything productive in the last 10 days. Even as one of my creative senses is in a current shut down mode, the other one is highly charged-up. So instead of wasting day after day doodling and staring at blank page and word doc, I decided to channel my energy into something I enjoy immensely-creating collages.

Till I get my writing mojo back{hopefully soon} enjoy this delicious neon theme collage.

Street Style Inspiration: NEON!!!

For years fashion has been influenced by two walks of life: runway and red carpet. But not any more. Thanks to a new breed of fashion icons-Street Style Fashion Bloggers- we now can turn to the ‘real-way’ and get inspired. For my first street style inspiration I choose neon colour trend. You ask why neon? Well, the streets of fashion have been literally glowing neon. In varying degrees of brightness and boldness, neon colours have been making quite a regular appearance from NYC to Milan and all the other fashionable cities. Plus, it's one of Spring-Summer 2012's major trend. How could a die hard colour lover like me stay away from these gorgeously vibrant shades? I just had to do a neon post!

Lets face it; neon colours are not for the faint of heart. They may look effortlessly chic on our fave fashion bloggers, but in all honestly they require little bit of guts and whole lot of panache to pull off the look. Otherwise one may end up looking like an 80’s back-up dancer!

Like me, if you too are new to this trend; but nevertheless tempted to try it, here are a few tips for styling neon colours.

Choose Correctly: First off, you need to pick a color you are most comfortable in, as well as the one that suits your skin tone.

Start Small: First timers can start by picking neon accessories or jewelry. You can add a neon belt or bag to your classic white top and blue jeans look. Or spice up your LBD with a neon pumps or scarf.

Hints of Neon: Clothes with neon accents are a great way to experiment with this trend. Dress with neon piping, or shoes with neon straps or a top with neon motif, is a great way to start. This way you get to try out a new trend without stepping out of your style comfort zone.

Balance is Key: There are those who can carry off a head-to-toe neon look, for the rest of us it’s all about balancing the color palette. You can choose one single statement-making, eye-popping neon piece and pair it with classic black and white or grey or neutrals.

Highlight your Assets
: Nothing says all–eyes-on-me quite like neon. We all have one (or more)
asset we very proud off. Neon gives you a perfect opportunity to flaunt them. Got amazing legs? Show them off in a pair of neon skinny jeans.

There is no one rule for wearing neon colours. While some street style fashionistas have colour-blocked it, the others have chosen to only accessorize with it. Depending on your style preferences, you too can rock a neon look of your choice.

Well then ladies, are ready to glow neon bright? And what look would you go for? Share your and opinion with me in the comment section.

Trend Spotting: Coloured Blazer

Why are blazers in news all of a sudden when they have been a girl’s fashion staple since World War II?
Well, it seems the designers' world over decided to trade out the basic black/ navy ones for some fun and bold colored blazer. Electric blue, tangy tangerine or neon pink, there is a colour to suit every girl’s flavor.

And the best new is these bold and hue rich blazers can be paired with work wear trouser to GNO sequins dress to party shorts and first date skirts. Thrown on a bright little hot number and go straight form a boardroom onto the party floor. Make sure to pick a colour faltering to your body type and personality and watch as more that a few heads turn your way.

Key to stylishly wearing a Colored Blazer.

1.Ideally, we would first pick our outfit before the outerwear, but in this case we need to first select the blazer before the outfit. The blazer is the statement piece and the ensemble must be built around it.

2.Make sure you are 100% comfortable in your blazer color selection. To make a style statement you have to confidently wear your colour choice.

3.Keep the outfit relatively understated and complementary to the blazer. Preferably pick neutral or pastel colour and delicate prints.
4.Pair it with some stylish accessories and shoes and get set to show-off your colourful side.
